There has been radio silence ever since learning which of the American Horror Story Season 1 actors were re-cast in completely different roles for ‘Season 2. Luckily, the signal has returned and two new castings have been made to possibly top off the remainder major castings in the form of a foreign actress known for her previous sensuous work and a pop rock frontman/reality talent show judge.
There was an extensive search to cast the character of Gia, a “fierce, ferocious, extremely sexual and dangerous wild-child sexpot who harbors a secret’ . They forgot to add another element to the character description: French! According to TVLine, who had the exclusive, Lizzie Brocheré will be joining the cast of American Horror Story for its sophomore run side by side to the Season 1 cast including Jessica Lange, Zachary Quinto, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson and Lily Rabe. Brocheré will be starring as Lange’s nemesis, leading us to believe based on the idea that Gia is profiled as an Angelina Jolie Girl, Interrupted role, perhaps Brocheré will be playing a mental patient and Lange will be an authority figure in the ‘horror institution’.
The casting doesn’t end there; add a pop rock star into the mix. Adam Levine, Maroon 5 singer and The Voice judge, will also be joining the cast, playing a contemporary character, who is described as half of a couple called “The Lovers”. There isn’t much more to add to Levine’s character, as Levine himself stated, “I don’t know how much I can divulge, because Ryan keeps it very under wraps…I think I’m going to be playing myself, so hopefully that will be easy.” Perhaps this is an allusion to what can be part of a star crossed lovers arc, and since it is American Horror Story we wouldn’t put it past creator, Ryan Murphy to really add an element of horror and/or tragedy to a love story.
American Horror Story will be returning to FX this October.
